The Most Nurtured (TMN) is a community-based organization that promotes holistic wellness created exclusively by and for Black womxn. Currently we run accessible yoga and meditation classes, and mental health workshop although we continue to grow in response to community need.

Mental health is often something that goes unspoken in black communities and there are many barriers to seeking support. Black Therapist List is designed to eliminate some of these challenges by making it easier for people who are looking specifically for a black therapist in their area. All who are listed provide professional Canadian counselling and psychotherapy services including social workers, psychotherapists, life coaches, psychiatrists and psychologists. Please note that having a listing in this directory is not an endorsement. You are encouraged to do your due diligence when selecting a therapist.

WhereToStart.ca is the access point for free and confidential mental health services for children, youth and families who live in Peel Region. When you call us, we will listen to your concerns and help connect you with the most appropriate mental health program or service for you.

Crisis Services Canada

Crisis Services Canada (CSC) evolved out of the Canadian Distress Line Network (CDLN) – a national network of existing distress, crisis and suicide prevention line services that has been engaging members since 2002.

In recent years, the network has formalized and CSC was formed. Its structure and focus is geared to strengthening regional service delivery and ensuring gaps in mental health and suicide prevention and support nationwide are addressed.

In 2017, the organization incorporated under the name Crisis Services Canada and launched the Canada Suicide Prevention Service (CSPS). CSC is a collaboration of non-profit distress and crisis service centres from across Canada.

Our programs are geared toward children aged 6 years to seniors well into their 90s. Building Healthy Families – Peel CAS In partnership with the Peel Children’s Aid Society, The Building Healthy Families program delivers culturally-appropriate counselling to those who struggle with many intersectional challenges as parents. The goal of this program is to improve outcomes for child welfare clients, with emphasis on parenting, safety, family stability, permanency, conflict resolution and well-being.
